When 2000 was diagnosed inflicted with significant dopaminergic and
nonadrenergic }for non-Auzy / non-British readers that is aka
Norepinephrine [International Nonproprietary Name]} dysfunction, for
want of a better handle "Adult ADHD". Some "good news, bad news";-
Good-news the rare strain of encephalitis I had in 1988 normally kills
people or turns them into vegetables, it is very unusual for folk to
survive it. Bad news was as it is so unusual for folk to get through
that strain of encephalitis, how to treat the aftermath was going to
be a purely if highly-educated stabs in the dark. Spent the next six
years trying all manner of combination of different prescribed drug
cocktails, till we found one that works most of the time, more often
than not, every-other day.
When the head is working current activity, drawing, sculpture,
virtual reality, music composition, visual music (Vizsic), augmented
reality concepts.

My two themes for the current Synapse topic, "What to do with what
you've (not) got: Impairment & Augmentation" are;-
1# Once a disability is addressed to some degree by some
technological fix it ceases to be a regard by the public at large as
any disability at all. For example with computers providing
spell-checkers in word-processors, "Dyslexia" is no-longer publicly
perceived to be any burden to those inflicted, who are now expected to
perform; same reading speed, mental constructs, spelling ability (even
without the technological aid), as the normal population at large!
2# How we think about, then implement augmentations is restricted by
the mental blocks (language & concepts) we have on hand. If how we
think and speak about our aims are vague, one can not directly reach
there objective, as opposed to muddling towards some vague goal with a
hit or more often miss process.
All the best Shawn.
